attend the meeting and receive the award in person.
IV. 2007 Financial Statement
The club
account had a $526.29 increase from the beginning of the
year.
The accounting year has traditionally been from October to
October, but
the Board decided to change the accounting year to a
standard calendar year running from January to January in
order to line up with the IRS requirement to file an income
tax statement beginning in 2008 for all non-profit
organizations.
V. Ohio Aerobatic Open
- 2008 Budget Planning
The Board members reviewed the contest
budget and allocated
40% of the membership dues to help
pay for the contest. The rest
of the income needed
to run the contest will come from sponsorship
donations and entry fees.
- Volunteer recruitment
The largest concern about running the
contest remains with who will
be the CD. Gordon is unable to
commit because he was not awarded
the week of the contest off during
his vacation bid at work.
The Board is in
agreement that the contest will be run by co-CD’s
and the positions are open to
interested club members.
- Meal planning
The Friday night pizza dinner will
remain in place. Attendees will
not be charged, but a collection
bucket will be placed at the food table
to see if we can defer some of the
cost.
The Saturday night banquet location
is being researched. We may
hold the banquet in the hangar as
usual but are looking at alternatives.
Lunches will be served by a local
civic group – hot food on-site to be
be purchased individually.
- Sanction, Insurance and
waiver
All will be applied for in January
2008.

Agenda
1. Donation - a donation of $1,000 was received by the
club as a result of an aircraft sale to one of chapter 34's
members. The DR109 was offered by Wayne & Kathy Norris and
purchased by IAC34 member Chris Keegan. The Board Members
unanimously decided that the money will be used for
educational outreach activities or to supplement the IAC34
Aerobatic Scholarship.

Wayne & Kathy Norris.

2. IAC34
Scholarship - is back on track for presentation at the
Ohio Aerobatic Open. Eight applications are being reviewed
by the Scholarship Committee members; Penner, E. Stewart,

discussed. The recipient of the 2007 scholarship will
be announced at the Saturday night banquet during the trophy
presentation. Raffle: $315 has been collected to
date towards the scholarship.
David Clark has donated a headset valued at $300. The Board
made the decision to add the headset as a raffle item toward
the scholarship. Tickets for the drawing of the
headset may be purchased at the contest.
3. Ohio
Aerobatic Open
A. There is no assistant CD for the 2007 contest at this
point. The original hope was that someone would be
assistant CD this year with an eye on being able to be the
CD for the 2008 contest, since Gordon's schedule is
uncertain with his junior captain position and on-call
status at work. The Board members discussed the CD job
and what it really means to be CD at our contest. Generally,
the CD is in charge of a lot of the pre-planning of the
contest, however at our contest, the pre-planning is taken
care of by Secretary Penner and Pres Penner. The CD
for the Ohio Aerobatic Open is mostly in charge of the
contest itself - onsite trouble shooting, being there for
the contest jury, and keeping things running smoothly.
B.
Preparation for the 2007 contest is going well. Final
details are being completed,
-most all of the Volunteer positions have been filled and
VC, Nancy Wright will fill the rest of the spots on-site
during the contest.
-Meal are planned. Lunches Fri-Sat / Barrys Perch and More.
Dinners Fri/pizza provided by IAC34 and Saturday catered
banquet served in the hangar.
-We have 18 pilots pre-registered. Expectation is for a
total of 40.
-New FBO Mgr-Rick Belford. Gordon has made contact with the
new FBO mgr. Rick is interested in keeping things running as
they have in the past.
4.
Strategic Vision
for the club was discussed. Items to be considered for
the direction of the club are, 1) expanding the educational
component of our club., 2)making more of a connection with
flight schools.
5.
Dayton Air Show Secretary Penner continues to be
involved in the planning with the Greater Dayton EAA group
for a static aircraft display and booth space. Granger will
bring his Extra 300L and work in the booth. Anderson has
volunteered to work in the booth one day.
